Within 29 years of excellence we obtained 109 University Ranks in both Postgraduate and Under Graduate Programmes. It is really a remarkable achievement for a Professional Arts College under unaided stream.
Ramapuram, a land divinely hallowed by St. Augustine, its patron; the author of Varthamana Pusthakaom Paremakkal Gobernador,. Blessed Kunjachan and permeated by the presence of literary doyens like Ramapurathu Warrier and Smt. Lalithambika Antherjanam had always vibrated with cultural and educational enterprises. St. Augustine’s Forane Church has been an icon that spearheaded the academic and cultural activities of the locale by founding 4 Schools as early as in the 19 century. Yet the people of Ramapuram had to depend on colleges elsewhere for higher education. The dream of transforming Rampuram to an Educational Hub had been always fondly cherished by the people. The right ambience and occasion for founding a college at Ramapuram dawned in 1995 when the state Government decided to extend the higher education horizon to unaided spheres too. The great visionaries HE Mar Joseph Pallikaparambil and Rev. Fr. Augustine Perumattam, the then vicar of St Augustine’s Forane Church after much deliberations and prayers decided to establish a College in Self Financing Stream at Ramapuram in 1995. In founding the college, the founders had in their minds the glorious task of dispelling darkness and spreading the light of true wisdom all around irrespective of caste, creed, language or religion. Strictly adhering to and holding fast to its Vision and Mission and the core values, the college today is a leading centre of academic excellence, a knowledge hub where words come out from the depth of truth; where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; where the mind is led forward into ever-widening thought and action. The college has made every effort to be compassionate and sensitive to the marginalized and the people in need. This has been always the unique character of Mar Augusthinose where the mind is adorned with rich lore and each tutored faculty’s yearning is sated and taught to seek more. Mar Augusthinose College, since its inception in 1995, focuses on utilizing the historic opportunity of expansion for deepening excellence and achieving equal access to quality higher education. Located at Ramapuram, in the premises of a Forane Church with stupendous and unique architectural splendor, Mar Augusthinose College shines as a beacon of light, radiating the benign grace of the Holy Mother and St Augustine. Mar Augusthinose College has always been the guiding star fashioning the young minds in noble and gentle disciplines. The College is currently guided by H.E. Mar Joseph Kallarangattu as it patron, H.E. Mar Jacob Murickan, co-patron, Very Rev. Fr. Berchmans Kunnumpuram , Manager, Dr. Joy Jacob, Principal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Alencheril & Mrs. Siji Jacob , Vice Principals , Sri. Rajeev Joseph, Administrative Officer and Sri.Prakash Joseph, Administrative Executive.
From a humble beginning in 1995, under the patronage of Rev. Fr. Augustine Perumattam the college today has grown to enviable heights having 7 UG programmes, 7 PG programmes, a number of Value Added Courses,Add-on courses and Post Graduate Certificate Courses with a strength of 1360 Students, 85 Teachers and 20 Non Teaching staff. The college offers training in GD, interview skills, personality development programmes and placement & career training. Within the short span of its founding, the college bagged 105 University Ranks and 6000 students were placed in various MNCs and other sectors through campus recruitment. Mar Augusthinose College today is the most sought after college in Kerala. Mar Augusthinose has always stood above the rest in her approach to education and in its pedagogies. The ways we teach and the ways our students learn are unique and creative. Consistently we never hesitate to look into our deficiencies and transform us to effective agents of social change. Mar Augusthinose has substantially contributed to the process of National development providing quality education and thereby enabling the young to become globally competent. Never content with what we are today, we continue our march towards excellence with new vigor and enthusiasm.
