Mar Augusthinose College had its inception in 1995 under the Management of St. Augustine’s Forane Church, Ramapuram and under the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Augustine Perumattam. The college has registered consistent growth during the able management of Rev. Fr. Cyriac Kunnel, Rev. Fr. Mathew Narivelil and Rev. Dr. George Njarakunnel. Ever since its inception, the institution has maintained high academic excellence, commitment to moral values, and single-minded devotion to the cause of higher education. The institution which started with only a few courses like BBA, BSc Electronics, BCA and BCom, has now grown into one of the most outstanding colleges in the self-financing sector of higher education with as many as ten undergraduate batches of diverse programmes like BCA (2 Batches) BSc Electronics, BSc Biotechnology, BBA (2 Batches), BCom (Co-operation 2 Batches), BCom (Finance & Taxation) and BA(English Literature & Communication Studies). The total strength of students has gone up to more than 1640 and 109 staff members from the meagre numbers in 1995. Seven Postgraduate programmes were also added to the range and depth of the academic life of this temple of learning.
We have rich infrastructural facilities as well. Spacious class rooms equipped with modern teaching aids, state of the art laboratories for Computer Science , Electronics, Biotechnology and Language learning. Two Conference halls with all modern facilities and a library with more than 17000 titles are a few of the facilities available at the campus. The dedicated and committed services rendered by the teaching and non-teaching staff make the picture complete.
The college has been the venue of many national seminars and state level exhibitions. The story goes back to 1997 when we organized an All India Science and Technology exhibition followed by national seminars in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics in the first decade of the present century.

Mar Augusthinose College has consistently maintained high academic excellence in all these years. As on date, we have secured 90 University Ranks in various subjects. Electronics, Computer Science, English Literature & Communication Studies, Bio-Technology and M H R M have retained their supremacy in University ranks in all these years. South Indian Bank, Federal Bank, US Technologies, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte and TCS are a few of the companies that have visited our campus for their placement requirements. We would also like to mention that within a comparatively short period of our history, the NSS unit of this college was selected twice as the best under M. G. University.
Mar Augusthinose College has left an indelible impression in the annals of history by inscribing its name in golden letters by securing prestigious awards like Santhigiri Cultural & Social Centre’s ‘ Educational Excellence Award’, presented at London Parliament Annexe, ‘ The Best College in South India’ Award by Dubai Cultural Centre , Depika Excellence Award & Mangalam Excellence Award and ‘Educational Excellence Award’ by Art Foundation, Kottayam.
The college continues its onward journey of quality education under the dynamic leadership of Rev.Dr.George Varghese Njarakunnel as Manager, Dr.Joy Jacob as Principal and Rev.Fr. Joseph Alencheril as Vice-Principal. The college cherishes the fond dreams and aspirations of its founders and strives hard to achieve its goals and objectives in the best possible manner.
